I went to see a doctor today, and after some questioning, palpation of my wrist and flexing it around, the doctor told me that it was pretty much most likely from overuse strain. He said it wasn't enough for me to need an x-ray since if it was stress fractures, it'd be causing more pain than it did, and referred me to see a Sports Physiotherapist at Homebush. He also told me to rest it for at least a month, if not more, so no training, and if it was bad, to use Voltaren Gel on it. Then also suggested getting a wrist joint support band (one of those elastic compression supports you often see people have for knees and ankles).
I called the physio up to see how much it would cost, and they told me it was $170/consult, and the person I had been referred to was only available every second friday afternoon. Looking at his profile, it appears he is a highly skilled surgeon and does a lot of surgery at Royal North Shore and elsewhere.... In any case, the next available appointment was mid December, and then the one after that was Mid January due to the Christmas/New Year holiday shutdown period that is common in lots of businesses and practices which are non-emergancy services.
So, in essence, I was warned to rest it, or make it worse and possibly suffer pre-mature arthritis. The culprits are soft tissue and carpal ligaments in the joint. ~shakes angry fists~ I guess then it means I can't train.... T_T For a month.... T___T.....

What about State champs? were you gonna compete?
I was thinking about it, but with this, it pretty much means I shouldn't.
By 'Sports Physiotherapist at Homebush' Did you get referred to the physio at the Sydney Sport Medicine Centre?
What's the name of the physio you got referred to?
